BRADENTON, Fla., and BANGOR – Timothy E. Roy, 63, died peacefully April 13, 2011, at home in Bradenton, Fla. Tim was born May 27, 1947, in Bangor, to Arthur and Shirley (Boynton) Roy.

Tim graduated from John Bapst High School in 1965, and served three years in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He married Nancy J. (Sites) Roy of Brewer, in 1970. Tim loved living in Florida for the past 16 years and was an avid tennis player and enjoyed his many friends. He will be sadly missed. He was employed at the Bangor Daily News for 24 years and the Bradenton Herald for 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, Tony Roy and his wife, Suzanne, of Jensen Beach, Fla.; his daughter, Melissa Seavey of Old Town; his brother, Arthur Roy and his wife, Nancy, of Dexter; his sister, Lila Saindon and her husband, Joe, of Portland; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Church of the Cross, 26th Street, Bradenton, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim’s name to Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th St. W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
