DENNYSVILLE – Jason LeRoy Koehne, 33, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 15, 2011. Jason was born Jan. 12, 1978, in Calais, son of David and Denise (Wilcox) Koehne.
He graduated from Shead High School, Class of 1996. Jason worked several years painting and doing carpentry work until he attended Washington County Community College, where he received his certificates in welding and diving. For many years after school, Jason worked on a lobster boat until becoming employed with Abhe & Svoboda, painting telecommunication towers throughout the United States. He eventually started his own business, Downeast Painting. Jason loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, mudding and putting together model cars.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, June and LeRoy Davis; and an aunt, Brenda Bonewicz. Surviving are his loving daughter, Jenna Koehne of Edmunds; his parents, David and Denise Koehne of Robbinston; his sister, Tonya Koehne of Baileyville; a brother, Nathan Koehne of Robbinston; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Patricia Koehne of Riverside, R.I.; aunts and uncles, Larry and Cathy Wilcox of Alexander and Gail Wilcox of Manchester, Conn.; numerous paternal aunts and uncles in Rhode Island; many cousins; and his faithful canine companion, Beta.
Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Mays Funeral Home – Flagg Chapel, 72 High St., Eastport. A celebration of Jason’s life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Eastport. Burial will be held at Clifford’s Stream Cemetery, Marion.
