Red Cross offers introductory disaster classes to volunteers
BANGOR, Maine — The Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering three introductory disaster classes for new volunteers: 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, for disaster services overview; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for shelter operations and 1-4 p.m. for shelter simulation, Saturday, April 23, at the Bangor office of the Pine Tree Chapter.There is no cost to attend.

UMaine green bike ride to welcome spring
ORONO, Maine — The UMaine Rec Center’s first green ride, to welcome spring and get geared up for the cycling season, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 1, on the Orono campus. All ages and levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to ride.
Register by April 28, $5 for individuals or $10 for families. Add $2 to each price for event day registration.
