EAST MACHIAS — Benefit concert 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, Centre Street Congregational Church, in the center of town, to raise money to restore the church’s historic mechanical-action organ. Gene Nichols and Duane Ingalls will perform “Variations on Three Themes from ‘Negotiating Worthless Instruments’ in E Major;” The Wallpaper Quartet will play selections by Dvorak, Gabrieli, Finger and Gluck; and church organist Robb Cook will demonstrate the organ, which was built right after the Civil War.
