WESTBROOK, Maine — Authorities say a Maine firefighter suffered minor smoke inhalation while helping extinguish a house fire in Westbrook.
Westbrook Fire Capt. Peter Mullin says the fire broke out on Central Street about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
When firefighters arrived, smoke and flames could be seen coming from the building. All the occupants of the building escaped safely.
Mullin told WMTW-TV the firefighter who suffered smoke inhalation was taken to a hospital where he was treated and then released.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but the house was destroyed.
