BANGOR – Laura M. Thompson, 82, died April 12, 2011. She was born Jan. 31, 1928, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Roland and Fern Huntley.

She married Reynold Thompson in 1946, and they lived together in East Millinocket for many years before relocating to Winter Haven, Fla. in 1992. They returned to the Bangor area in 2005. Laura was known for her cooking, especially her peanut butter marshmallow fudge. For recreation she enjoyed baking, bingo and knitting. She loved children and often would become “nana” to any child she met. She was an active member of First Congregational Church, East Millinocket, for many years.

Laura is survived by her spouse, Reynold; her brother, Robert Huntley of Albuquerque, N.M.; two children, Barbara Brackett-Passarini and Buzz Thompson of Bangor. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Richard Brackett of Lakeland, Fla., Deborah Bledsoe of Winter Haven, Fla., Amy York of Medway and Deanna Thompson of Salem, Mass.; and six great-grandchildren.

Committal services will be announced at a later date.
