PORTLAND, Maine — A new organization has formed in Maine to oppose efforts to expand casino gambling in the state.
A group calling itself Mainers Against A Rotten Deal says it has hired Chris O’Neil as its lobbyist in the State House, where legislators next week hold hearings on bills that would allow casino-style gambling in Lewiston, Biddeford and Washington County.
O’Neil says the group officially formed this week and has launched a website and a Facebook page.
