MEDWAY – Sandra Fiske went home to be with her Lord April 20, 2011, while surrounded by her husband, daughter and son. Sandra was born Aug. 21, 1949, in Millinocket, to Douglas E. Segee and Dorothy “Jean” Stratton of East Millinocket.
Jesus Christ was her rock, her refuge, and the light of her life. She had the peace about life that surpasses all understanding, even in the midst of life’s difficult storms. She found strength in the Word of God, particularly in this favorite verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6. Her love, compassion, tenderness and joy for life will be missed deeply. She was – and is – her husband Doug’s high school sweetheart, even through 42 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Douglas Fiske of Medway; a daughter, Karen, wife of Greg Stanley of Medway; a son, Brian Fiske and his wife, Jennifer, of Hampden; one “unofficially adopted” son, Timothy Fiske and his wife, Dawn, of Lee; one sister, Susan and her husband, Darrell Morrow, of Gorham; two brothers, Carl Segee and his wife, Diana, of Medway and Bruce Segee and his wife, Cathy, of Orono; six grandchildren, Derrick, Zachary, Emma and Alyssa Stanley of Medway, Gabriel and Isabel Fiske of Hampden; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special cousin, Helen Kelly of East Millinocket.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 2, at Grindstone Cemetery with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating. In accordance with Sandra’s wishes, there will be no viewing or formal funeral services. Gifts in memory of Sandra may be sent to Community Health and Counseling Services, Hospice Department, P.O. Box 208, Lincoln, ME 04457 or Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K St. NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20005. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
