SWANVILLE – Helen Katherine (Friss) Ingles, 85, passed away April 20, 2011, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Hudson, N.Y., daughter of the late Gordon and Minnie (Coons) Friss.
On Nov. 17, 1945, she married Raymond J. Ingles in Belfast. In her younger years she worked in retail five and dime stores, and for many years stitched shoes for Truitt Brothers, Belfast. She was active in TOPS, and enjoyed cats, flowers and gardening, and 31 years of living on Swan Lake.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Irene Aulabaugh, Sandra Johnson and Carole Beaumont. Helen is survived by her husband, Raymond; her beloved son, Robert and his wife, Mary Anne (Willette) Ingles; her grandson, Matthew R. Ingles and his wife, Martha (Hurlbert) Ingles; her granddaughter, Laura E. Ingles, all of Bangor; her brothers, Richard of Washington state and Robert of New York; as well as nephews, Raymond Abbott and his wife, Pam, and Arthur Abbott and his wife, Joanne. Her smile will be missed by her many friends, especially Bunny Cook, Charlotte Kerrigan, Joan Peterson and Alice Brier.
