PRESQUE ISLE – Jane H. (Shaw) Olore passed away April 21, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Jane was born July 18, 1932, in Presque Isle, the daughter of the late Otis and Hannah Shaw.

Jane grew up on a farm on Houlton Road, Presque Isle, where she loved to help her father with the aspects of running a farm and attending the farm animals. She met and married Hugo A. Olore Jr. in Presque Isle, where they raised three children. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, feeding birds and wild animals, doing crossword puzzles and scratch tickets. Jane was known for her wonderful sense of humor and loved collecting various items which she relished recounting her escapades to family and friends. She was an amazing cook and her family constantly badgered her to make her many fine dishes and desserts. She enjoyed many trips to Italy, where she always asked Italian family members how crops were grown in Europe and how food dishes were produced. Jane was a hard worker and had many jobs, including being the elected Presque Isle warden for elections for many years, volunteering at St. John’s Episcopal Church, The Aroostook Medical Center and various charities. Jane was a devoted wife, mother, nanny and friend. She was the lead cheerleader at her children’s sporting events and always volunteered to help with projects at her children’s schools.

She is survived by her loving husband, Hugo of Presque Isle; two sons and their wives, Timothy and Carole Olore of Presque Isle and Stephen and Tawny of Orlando, Fla.; and two special grandchildren, Nicolas and Sophia Olore of Orlando, Fla. Jane is also survived by her Abyssinian cat, Sadie Ann, who watched over her throughout her illness. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Rebecca Olore.

Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Presque Isle.
