BUCKSPORT — The Bucksport High softball and baseball teams rolled to victories over Ellsworth on Thursday with the Golden Bucks shutting out Ellsworth 12-0 in softball and 10-0 in baseball.
In softball action, Abby Yeo tossed a two-hit shutout and had a double, two singles and knocked in two runs in leading Bucksport past Ellsworth.
Yeo struck out six and walked one for 2-0 Bucksport. Shelby Redman hit three singles and drove in a run.
Ashley Smith and Shawna Doyle singled for 1-2 Ellsworth.
In baseball action, Tyler French tossed a five-inning one-hit shutout with three strikeouts and two walks as Bucksport topped Ellsworth.
Billy DeRedin had a home run, two singles and scored three runs for the 2-0 Golden Bucks. Shawn Smith hit a three-run homer and a single and Evan Eldridge added a double, two singles and four RBIs.
Andrew Austin led off the game with an infield single for 2-1 Ellsworth.
