ELLSWORTH – Harriet Allen Bisset, devoted wife and mother, passed away April 29, 2011, in Ellsworth. She was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Brooklin, the daughter of Forrest and
Emma Allen.
Harriet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a member of United Baptist Church, Ellsworth, and was a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. Harriet was past president of the Women’s Missionary Society in the Ladies Aid, and helped wherever needed in her church.
She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Walter; daughters, Valerie Heanssler and husband, Nelson, and Belinda Bisset and partner, Lorianne Farrin; grandchildren, Ann and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Isaiah; sister, Ethel Gott; and brother, Lawrence Allen. Harriet was predeceased by her daughter, Susan, in 1968; and brothers, William, Lowell “Bud,” Donald and Forrest.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, at United Baptist Church, Pine Street, Ellsworth, with the Rev. Scott Conners officiating. Interment will be at Seaside Cemetery, Blue Hill.
