LINCOLN – Peggy J. Cole, 68, wife of Sheldon E. Cole, passed away April 30, 2011, with her family at her side, at her home. She was born Dec. 21, 1943, in Lincoln, the daughter of Ralph and Molly (Marston) Hanscom.
Peggy graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1961. She enjoyed camping, especially her trips to Bar Harbor, and loved her trips to Hawaii. She was a dedicated homemaker, and especially enjoyed her new home. One of her greatest loves was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Sheldon, she is survived by two children: a daughter, Kelly Jean Russell and her husband, Timmy, of Lincoln and a son, Andy L. Cole and his wife, Wendy, of Winn; three grandchildren, Amy Jean Russell, Emily Jane Russell and Cole Frederick Russell; a brother, Bill Hanscom and his wife, Cindy, of Lincoln; a brother-in-law, Otis Leavitt of Medway; several nieces and nephews. She also leaves close friends, Bette and Gary Tibbetts of Hampden. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Dale Leavitt; and her in-laws, Harland and Tena Cole.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating.
