MADAWASKA LAKE and CARIBOU – Dale E. Bouchard, 69, died May 5, 2011, at his Madawaska Lake residence, after a prolonged illness. He was born July 7, 1941, in Caribou, son of the late Victor and Rose (Longley) Bouchard.

Dale married Janet (Anderson) Bouchard April 28, 1962, and shared more than 47 years of marriage before her untimely passing nearly two years ago. Mr. Bouchard was a 1960 graduate of Caribou High School and was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

He retired from Daigle Oil Co., where he worked as a brand manager for 23 years and Maine Public Service for 22 years as a system control operator. He was a former member of Pine and Spurs Riding Club, Nordic Lakers Snowmobile Club, North Lake Regions Volunteer Fire Department and Madawaska Lake Campers Association. Dale had a lifelong love of horses. He raised, trained and showed his Arabian horses throughout New England. He was the proprietor of Country Road Tack Shop, Caribou, for many years. After moving to Madawaska Lake 23 years ago, he enjoyed entertaining family and friends on his party boat and snowmobiling in the winter months. He enjoyed sharing stories and a good cup of coffee and doughnuts with family and friends throughout his life.

Surviving are his three sons, Jeffery Bouchard and his wife, Bonnie, of Madawaska Lake, and their children, Travis and Molly; Jason Bouchard and his wife, Jill, of Enfield, and their children, Rebecca and Jacob; and Jon Bouchard and his wife, Tina, of Holden, and their children, Jonathan, Cole, Cole Grayson and Rilee; three sisters, Lorena Bouchard of Van Buren, Joyce Ouellette of Brewer and Debra Cyr of Westmanland; several nieces and nephews. Dale will be sadly missed by his faithful sheltie, Teddy; and fondly remembered by Renee Bouchard of Brewer, as well as many special friends, including David Dubois of Winslow, Philip Brown of Dauningtown, Pa., and Tommy Cox of Caribou. Dale was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Bouchard; and sisters, Mavis Plourde and Patricia Plourde.

Friends and family may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with a memorial service celebrating Dale’s life beginning 1 p.m. Interment will be after the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
