HAMPDEN – Geraldine (Baker) Pelletier, 87, passed away May 5, 2011, at her home. She was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Hampden, daughter of Thomas W. and Claribel (Sawyer) Baker.
Jerry was a lifelong resident of Hampden and a graduate of Hampden Academy, Class of 1942. She was always outgoing and could make friends with anyone. Jerry was a great storyteller and a very giving person. She volunteered at Roe Village, Hampden Senior Citizens and Hampden Neighborhood Food Cupboard. Jerry was always donating her handy work to people or local organizations in need. She was a wonderful person and devoted to helping the town of Hampden in any way she could. Geraldine will be remembered as a loving and treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Arbo and her husband, Ralph, of Hampden; a grandson, Wayne E. Arbo and his wife, Angela; two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Tyler Arbo, all of Newburgh; several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife of two great men for 59 years, her first husband, L. Leon Foss Jr., who died in 1969; and her second husband, Daniel F. Pelletier, who died in 2007. She was also predeceased by one sister, Arline Smith; and five brothers, Benjamin, Edgar, Thomas, Harold and William Baker.
At Jerry’s request, a private family service and committal will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden.
