CORINTH and LEVANT – Loretta M. Roebuck, 91, wife of the late Herman Roebuck, died May 13, 2011, at her residence in Corinth. She was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Bloomingdale, N.J., the daughter of Harold and Sara May (Bott) Vreeland.
She loved to go sightseeing and also caring for her flower gardens.
She is survived by her children, Robert J. Burd and his wife, Luda, of Lecanto, Fla., Floyd Burd and his wife, Bonnie, of Bangor, Penn., and Pat McCullough and her husband, Joe, of Corinth; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Loretta was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Burd; a sister, Dorothy Shutten; and two brothers, Richard and Chester Vreeland. The family extends a special thanks for the care given to Loretta by Boyd Center, Union Street, Bangor, and to Spencer Speed for all his help with Loretta.
Friends may call noon until the time of services 1 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, from with the Rev. Herman Franklin officiating. Burial will be at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Please visit
