LITTLETON and HOULTON – Harold H. McCarthy, 85, died May 14, 2011, at a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1925, in Littleton, son of Donald and Lucy (Henderson) McCarthy.
Harold was a longtime Littleton farmer. He had a great love of animals and was a member of Aroostook Riding Club, Houlton Fair Horse Pulls, Maine Draft Horse Association and Meduxnekeag Club. His life’s passion was pulling horses and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Condon) McCarthy of Houlton; three sons, Barry and Gail of Hampden, Robert and Ann of Houlton, and Donald and Heather of Littleton; two daughters, Debbie McCarthy of Littleton and her special friend, Larry Campbell, and Michelle and Danny Williams of Houlton; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip and Carol of Clinton, and Arthur and Arlene of Biddeford; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home, where services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Littleton Cemetery.
