AUGUSTA – Charlotte B. Robinson, 88, formerly of Newburgh, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta Campus, after a long illness. She was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Kingman, a daughter of the late Clarence and Vera (Morris) Beatham.

Mrs. Robinson was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1940. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but had worked for several years at Bangor Mental Health Institute. Mrs. Robinson was a member and past matron of the Eastern Star in Carmel. She was an avid outdoors person who loved to hunt and fish. She enjoyed sports and attended most, if not all, of her son’s sporting events.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Eugene W. Robinson Sr.; as well as a sister and two brothers. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her son, Eugene W. Robinson Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Augusta; a brother, Owen Beatham of Torrington, Conn.; three sisters, Avis Hanning of Littleton, Donna Burdick of New Hartford, Conn., and Bunnie Nanni of Barkhampstead, Conn.; a grandson, Jonathan Robinson of Fairfield; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Brieahna Robinson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. After cremation, a graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Hill Cemetery, North Road, Newburgh.
