HOULTON and FLORIDA – Joan L. Weinberg, 83, died May 7, 2011, at a local health care facility. She was born Feb. 5, 1928, in Fort Kent, daughter of John and Alice (Long) Labbe.
Joan taught fifth grade in Bridgewater and then East Corinth for many years. In the late 1980s, she relocated to Florida where she continued her teaching career. Joan was a native French speaker and later learned Yiddish and Hebrew. She loved gardening, animals and traveling. She was a talented sewer and crafter.
Joan is survived by her husband, Maynard Weinberg of Florida; her children, Tommy Pinette, Ruth Cain and her husband, Brian, Brian Pinette and his wife, Kathy, Sara Meunier and her husband, Norman, Peter Pinette and his wife, Charlotte, Mark Pinette and his friend, Elton Phillips, Morris Pinette and his wife, Connie, Laura Wolfgang, and Victoria Shilton and her husband, Martin; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
