Stroke Gold Plus Award
ROCKPORT, Maine — Pen Bay Medical Center has received the American Heart Association-American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.
To receive the award, Pen Bay Medical Center achieved at least 12 consecutive months
of 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines–Stroke Quality
Achievement indicators for two or more consecutive 12-month intervals, and achieved
75 percent or higher compliance with six of 10 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality
Measures, which are reporting initiatives to measure quality of care.
It is not the first national recognition for the Pen Bay Stroke Program, which recently received Primary Stroke Center Recertification from the Joint Commission, an independent overseer of medical care quality. Pen Bay is one of three hospitals in Maine to have achieved that certification; the others are Maine Medical Center in Portland and Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Pen Bay is the only Maine hospital to have achieved the Get With The Guidelines–Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for two consecutive years.
