EAST MILLINOCKET – Robert James Rogers passed away unexpectedly May 25, 2011, at his home. He was born Oct. 29, 1960, in Millinocket, son of Donis and Ida Rogers; and identical twin brother of Richard Hazen Rogers.
His is survived by his daughter, Mahala Rae Rogers of East Millinocket; his longtime love, Lynne Austin of East Millinocket; his brother and his wife, Rick and Jolene Rogers of Millinocket; and his sister and her husband, Cathy and Clyde Lufkin of East Millinocket. Rob had two nieces, Allison and Jessica Rogers; and one nephew and wife, Drew and Erin Suzanne Lufkin. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents.
Rob graduated from Schenck High School, East Millinocket, in 1979. One month later he became a papermaker in the East Millinocket paper mill and worked there until shortly before his death. He enjoyed his camp at Shin Pond; hiking in Baxter State Park; teasing people; his dogs, Chloe and Gizmo; and his cat, Meow Meow. He also enjoyed riding his four-wheeler “up to camp” and riding his motorcycle everywhere else. Rob loved spending time with his family and close friends, and he will be sorely missed by all.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at East Millinocket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob’s memory may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
