BANGOR – Susan I. “Sue” Hart, 50, wife of Robert A. Hart, died May 23, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at her home from complications of lymphoma. She was born Nov. 7, 1960, in Bangor, daughter of Henry S. and Edith I. (Emery) Coyne.

Sue graduated from Brewer High School in 1979 and married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Hart, Aug. 11, 1979. She worked for the town of Orono for 20 years where she was deputy tax collector and registrar of voters, and also served as a dedimus justice. Sue was awarded the highly acclaimed Lorraine Fleurey Award from the Secretary of State in 2010. She was also an active member of the Chemo Angels. Sue’s greatest accomplishment, as she said, was her daughter, Valerie – her “angel baby.”

Sue is survived by her husband of 32 years of Bangor; her daughter, Valerie of Orono; sisters, Alta Clapper and her husband, Charley, of Orland, and Mary Kay Graves and her husband, Michael, of Orrington; her brother, Ron Coyne of Arizona; her mother-in-law, Eleanor Hart of Brewer; two sisters-in-law, Sue (Hart) Cox and her husband, Steve, of Levant, and Cathy (Hart) Jordan and her husband, Joe, of Eddington; a brother-in-law, James Hart and his wife, Pam, of Virginia; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; and her father-in-law, Everett “Red” Hart. She will be remembered by her special friend, Shawna Hinckley. She will be missed by her two cats, Nomar and Sassy; and her dog, Dawson.

Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service honoring and celebrating Sue’s life will be held 7 p.m. as the visitation concludes.
