MORRILL – Lytle E. Eaton, 89, passed away May 27, 2011, in Waterville. She was born Oct. 5, 1921, in Morrill, the daughter of Norman and Carrie (Blake) Eaton.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Harry B. Eaton; her brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Eva Thomas; and her companion, Walter Dunbar. Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla Wescott and significant other, Dale Clement, of Vassalboro; grandson, Christopher Wescott and wife, Shelley, of Vassalboro; great-grandson, Corbin Wescott; nephew, Leroy Thomas and wife, Beverley, of Morrill; great-nephews, Randy and Robert Thomas and their families; several cousins and many wonderful friends.

Lytle was the register of probate for Waldo County for 28 years. She raised gladiolas and sold them to florists, and loved quilting and belonged to the quilting guild in Belfast. She volunteered at the Hutchinson Center, was active in Daughters of the American Revolution, the young Republican club in her earlier years, then the Republican Club, where she held many offices. Lytle also belonged to the Curling Club, and Tri-Town Snowmobile Club, of which she enjoyed riding with Carrie Cross. Her memberships also included Eastern Star, Rebekah’s, Morrill Grange and she held office as the treasurer of Morrill Historical Society. Lytle was a very active member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church until her recent years, as well as Waldo County Humane Society. She was a notary public who married several people, and traveled extensively.

Friends and family are invited to call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 100 Court St., Belfast.
