CORINNA and PITTSFIELD – Elaine Jean (Gustin) Davis, 53, died unexpectedly May 28, 2011. She was born July 15, 1957, at Plummer Memorial Hospital, Dexter, to the proud parents of Gerald and Emma Jean (Saunders) Gustin.
Elaine’s favorite time of year was Christmas. She had been quoted saying, “My parents made it a special time of year for us kids.” On Sept. 2, 1986, she opened her first boutique, Christmas Worldwide, Route 2, Pittsfield. Years later in October 1990, she opened a Christmas store in Corinna. She was a very successful business supervisor of a nationwide franchise of House of Lloyd and also Christmas Around the World. With her great sales and leadership she earned paid vacations to Greece, Spain, Hawaii and Rio de Janeiro. Two trips greatly enjoyed were to Greece with her father, Gerald Gustin, and a trip to Spain with her son, Jason Cunningham. Elaine’s greatest joys in life were her three children and grandchildren. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends sharing memories and making them laugh. Elaine loved to go to church and share with others what God had done for her and her family. Elaine enjoyed shopping and buying gifts for other people. She was a very generous person. If someone was in need Elaine was quick to step up and help in any way she could.
Elaine is survived by her mother of Corinna; son, Jason Cunningham of Palmyra; grandchildren, Hannah Cunningham and Grace Cunningham; her daughter, Emmalee Reed and husband, Joshua, of Corinna; and granddaughter, Maria. She also leaves behind her sisters, Blakena Scott and husband, Jeff, of St. Albans, and Holly Mullis and husband, George, of Corinna; and her brothers, Delmont Benjamin and wife, Sue, of New York, Patrick Gustin and wife, Laurie, of Corinna, Kirk Gustin and wife, Cassie, of St Albans, and John Gustin of Corinna. Elaine is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She is reunited with her beloved son, Donnie Lovley; and father, Gerald Gustin. She will be greatly missed by many. Her smiling face and laughter will live in our hearts forever. A special thank you to cousin, Sheryl Gustin, for all the help throughout the years; and neighbor, Colleen McHugh.
