HOPE – Jean A. Connon, 62, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at her home. Born Aug. 4, 1948, in Skowhegan, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Priscilla Moore Connon.

Jean graduated from Limestone High School. After high school Jean earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine, Orono, and her master’s degree in nutrition from the University of Minnesota. Jean was a member of the University of Maine Concert Band during her four years there. For most of her career, Jean was employed as a dietician with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Togus until she retired. An avid photographer and she enjoyed traveling, including many cruises. She took great pleasure in attending different sporting events and loved a good game of cards. For many years Jean was a member of Midcoast Ladies Club – Hope Extension, as well as Camden Senior Citizens. This past year she has also enjoyed being a pen pal to a child in the first grade at Hope Elementary School.

She was predeceased by her parents. Jean is survived by her brother, Jeffrey Connon and his wife, Nancy, of Camden; her nephew, Ryan Connon and his wife, Lori, of Fairfield; as well as many cousins.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. A reception will be afterward at Hope Fire Department, Route 105, Hope. Private interment will be held at a later date.
