PALMYRA – Robert L. Cray Jr., 54, died unexpectedly June 1, 2011, at his residence. He was born Dec. 9, 1956, in Waterville, a son of Robert and Marion (McLaughlin) Cray Sr.
He graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1975. Bobby was a self-employed carpenter and floor installer for all of his life. He married the former Rhonda (Hosea), Feb. 25, 1982, in Florida. In 1988, they moved back to Maine. His hobbies were fishing and hunting. He was a member of Jubilee Family Worship Center, Newport. Bobby loved God, his family and others. He will be remembered as a great father and a wonderful, loving husband. He took great pride in the care of his parents and family.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his children, Robert Cray III and Rachael Cray; a grandson, Matthew Cray; a sister, Velma and her husband, Carl Palmer, all of Palmyra; two brothers, Richard Cray Sr. and wife, Carol, of Hartland, and Ronald Cray of Nassau, N.Y.; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his parents-in-law, Mark and Madoline Hosea of Ocala, Fla. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Myles and Fern Cray; and his grandparents-in-law, Frank and Anna Hosea.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, at Jubilee Family Worship Center, 163 Elm St., Newport, with the Rev.
