ALNA, Maine — The Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association will host a nature walk at its Trout Brook Preserve in Alna 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, June 9. Lynne Flaccus, head naturalist at Chewonki, who has a passion for reptiles and amphibians, will lead the walk around the half-mile loop trail in the preserve. The walk will be fairly easy though there are some areas of uneven terrain. The walk also will venture to Trout Brook, inhabited by turtles.
Trout Brook preserve is a mix of old pastureland, old orchards and forestland and is home to an
abundance and variety of wildlife. It protects Trout Brook, a scenic and important Sheepscot River tributary that joins the river after leaving the preserve.
