ASHLAND – Katherine (Clark) St. Peter McLellan, 89, went to be with the Lord June 3, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Ashland, the daughter of Pete and Mary (Theriault) Clark.
Kate was a homemaker for many years and also worked at Taterstate, Washburn. She lived in Connecticut for many years where she was employed at a department store, at a Hilton hotel and for Adirondack Wire and Cable Co. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and loved people. She would give some of her knitted or crocheted handiwork to many people. Kate had many friends of all ages and never turned away anyone who came to her door.
She is survived by two daughters, Sally “Phyllis” Devoe and husband, Clarence, and Glenys Dahlgren, all of Presque Isle; two sons, Carlton St. Peter and wife, Ann, of Presque Isle and Maurice St. Peter and wife, Glenice, of East Waterboro; one brother, Willie Clark of Ashland; four stepchildren, Ivan McLellan, Wava Layton, Madeline Spranza and Roland McLellan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a few great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Willard St. Peter; by her second husband, Elwin McLellan; two sons, Dennis St. Peter and Milford St. Peter; three brothers, Romeo, Frederick and Willie “Bill” Clark; and three sisters, Flora Cloukey, Irene Garone and Annie Wood.
Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland.
