FORT FAIRFIELD and LIMESTONE – Shirley M. Berube, 62, wife of the late Gerald F. Berube Sr., passed away Friday afternoon, June 3, 2011, at a Madawaska nursing facility, after an extended illness. She was born April 5, 1949, in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Clarence and Olive (Pelletier) Wakeling.
She was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1971; was married to Gerald F. Berube, Nov. 24, 1973; and was a communicant of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone.
She was predeceased by her father, Clarence Wakeling; her mother, Olive L. Wakeling Daigle; and her husband, Gerald F. Berube Sr., Oct. 24, 2009. She is survived by her son, Gerald F. Berube Jr. of Fort Fairfield; one brother, Charles Wakeling of Bangor; a special aunt, Lucy Bellefleur of Limestone; special caregivers, Gregg and Glenda Spittle of Fort Fairfield; numerous extended family members.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Access Highway, Limestone, with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Berube to Highview Manor Memorial Fund, 517 Riverview St., Madawaska, ME 04756, attention: Nancy Daigle. Arrangements have been entrusted to Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield.
