NEWPORT, Vt. — Vermont State Police say four people suffered minor injuries when the car they were riding in hit a moose on Route 100 in Newport Center.
Police say a car driven by 57-year-old Marsha Lane of Jeffersonville hit the moose that stepped into the road at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Lane and the passengers in her car, 65-year-old David Lane, also of Jeffersonville, and Maine residents 55-year-old Brian Westman and 53-year-old Laurie Moore, both of Dover-Foxcroft, all suffered minor cuts and abrasions.
The car had heavy damage.
Police did not say what happened to the moose.
