SWANVILLE – Edna F. (Riley) Kenney, 88, passed away June 9, 2011, at a Belfast hospital. She was born May 22, 1923, in Monroe, the daughter of Frank and Mildred (Evans) Riley.

Edna worked at the local hospital for many years, and enjoyed reading and crocheting until her macular degeneration made it impossible. She then enjoyed her books on tape. She devoted her life to her family and will be missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas L. Kenney Sr.; her sons, Thomas L. Kenney Jr. and John A. Kenney; siblings, Bernice DeMass, Doris Patterson, Adah Dyer, Clyde, Walter, Fred and Howard Riley. She is survived by her seven children, Joyce Page and husband, Martin, of Swanville, Patricia Jackson and Bernard of Liberty, Linda Clifford and husband, John, of Dumfries, Va., Nancy Harris and husband, Keith, of Waterboro, Barbara Kenney of Brewer, Deborah Ellis and husband, Bruce, of Bangor and Jeffrey Kenney and wife, Cara, of Bangor; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Kenney and Rebecca Kenney of Belfast; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eunice Palmer of Belfast; one brother, Lewis Riley of Liberty; and sisters-in-law, June Riley of Swanville, Roberta Riley of Belfast and Marge Riley of Falmouth, Mass.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Smart Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Daniels officiating.
