CARIBOU – Irvin A. Pinette, 66, died June 11, 2011, in Caribou. He was born Dec. 8, 1944, in Fort Kent, son of Albert and Alma (Leblond) Pinette.

He was employed at Pinkham Lumber for 20 years until his retirement in 1997 and also worked at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for four years. Irvin was a member of the National Guard and was a volunteer firefighter with Presque Isle Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and was a self-taught carpenter and a “Jack-of-all-trades.” Dad was a great teacher, leading by example, always a gentleman, whose kindness was without boundaries. His hand was always extended to those in need. Our lives are forever touched by his gentle spirit and loving soul.

He married Marilyn (Dube) Pinette, Oct. 31, 1964. Irvin’s great loves were his wife of 47 years, Marilyn; his son, Steven Pinette and his wife, Sydne, of Tucson, Ariz.; his daughter, Laura Pinette of Albuquerque, N.M.; his granddaughters, Danielle Pinette and Jade Romaine-Pinette; and his special foster son, Brandon. He is also survived by a brother, Bert Pinette of Madawaska; and a sister, Theresa St.Onge of Oakville, Conn. He was predeceased by a sister, Bernadette Hunt.

A private gathering to celebrate Irvin’s life will be held at the Pinette residence. For online register, please go to

Don’t be sad, I don’t want to see you cry. I’m not forever away, nothing could ever

keep me that far away. People die, just don’t plead “Why?”

Know I’ll still answer to that nickname. Don’t weep when you hear it, don’t be sad and never fear it. Speak to me as if I was still there, no weakening yourself with useless tears.

Death cannot separate us.

All my love and all my trust.
