BELFAST, Maine — A local man with a history of interactions with the police was arrested again early Tuesday morning after allegedly striking a man across the lower back with a metal pipe.
Christopher Beeton, 23, of Ryan Road in Belfast, had apparently been fighting with the man over a woman at about 12:30 a.m., according to Belfast Police Chief Jeff Trafton.
The victim did not need to seek treatment for his injuries.
Police charged Beeton with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and aggravated assault.
He remained in custody Tuesday afternoon at Waldo County Jail, with bail set at $500 cash.
