GLENBURN – Brian J. Lenfest, 54, died June 13, 2011 at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 10, 1956, in Brunswick, son of Theodore E. and Grace A. (MacKechnie) Lenfest.
Brian was a graduate of Old Town High School and Eastern Maine Technical College with a degree in business administration. He had been employed at University of Maine, Orono, for more than 25 years, in most recent years as a textbook buyer. He was a lifelong member of United Baptist Church of Old Town. Brian loved spending time with his family, gardening and going to the shore.
Surviving are his wife, Laura (Ward) Lenfest; one daughter, Caleigh Lenfest, both of Glenburn; two sisters, Theola Dawes and her husband, Richard, of Old Town, and Sylvia Hachey and her husband, Gayland, of Veazie; one brother, William Lenfest of Gainesville, Ga.; nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Scott A. Ward of Honolulu. Brian will also be fondly remembered by special friends, Kathi and Thomas Jewell of Eau Claire, Wis.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, at United Baptist Church, 86 Middle St., Old Town, with the Rev. R. Bruce Stevens, pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday. Interment will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
