CARIBOU – Fred J. Michaud, 88, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at his winter residence in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born in Canada and made his home in Caribou.

He was employed as plant superintendent for Caribou school department for 39 years, and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two daughters, Patti Gilley and husband, James, of Berwick, and Rebecca Haskell and husband, Dana, of Caribou; one son, Scott Michaud and wife, Dorothy, of Uxbridge, Mass.; two sisters, Evelyn and Sandy St. Peter and Deda Sams; one brother, Maynard Michaud, all of Caribou; four grandchildren, Rachael Richmond and husband, David, Rebekah Williams, Seth Haskell and wife, Sarah, and Timothy Williams and wife, Jenna; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Eric Richmond; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris Michaud; and three brothers, Herbert, Lewis and Alphie Michaud.

A memorial Mass will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Caribou. After the interment, there will be a gathering at Holy Rosary parish hall.
