HERMON, Maine — Since no one stepped forward for a spot on the ballot, residents filled a vacancy on the Hermon School Committee through a write-in vote in Tuesday’s local elections.
Richard Guthrie was elected to the three-year position, with 108 votes, according to election results provided by Town Clerk Eric Glidden.
Other residents who received write-in votes were June Kontio, who came in second with 70 votes; incumbent committee member Ralph Carr, who had 28; and Leslie Smith, who received 14.
