PERTH-ANDOVER, New Brunswick – Surrounded by her loving family, Ida McCarthy passed away peacefully June 14, 2011, at Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital. Born Jan. 23, 1925, in Siegas, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Michaud) Beaulieu.

Ida leaves behind her daughters, Julia Solomon and Sherry-Lynn Gagnon of Westmanland, Cynthia Towers and Frank Rolerson of Rockland and Janet Barfield and Willie of Charlotte, N.C.; her sons, Roland Beaulieu and fiancee, Marie-May St-Jarre, and Alan McCarthy of New Sweden; her brother, Albert Beaulieu and Jean of Plaster Rock, New Brunswick; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ida was predeceased by her parents; her loving and loved companion of 20 years, Sheldon Plant; daughters, Louise Vallance and Joanne Putman; grandson, Jamie McDermott-Vallance; sisters, Georgette Cote and Viola Menard; and two brothers, Guy and Wilbrod Cote.

Resting 7-9 p.m. Friday at Brunswick Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, with Father Curtis Sappier, celebrant. Interment will be afterward at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Limestone Siding, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tree of Hope or a local World Youth Day fundraiser would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick.
