Phyllis Wilcox (right), 90, of Corinth sang along as Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Cook, left, conducted fellow members of the 195th Maine Army National Guard Band as they play rousing patriotic songs during Corinth’s 200th Birthday “Incorporation Day” celebration next to town hall Tuesday evening, June 21, 2011. Tuesday’s celebration kicked off with a barbecue chicken dinner prepared by the Corinth Fire Dept. followed by an opening ceremony with Corinth Historical Society quilt presentation, a poem by Donald Clark and speeches by representives for Maine’s Congressional delegation. The event ended with a flag burning ceremony by American Legion Post 115 of Corinth. More celebrations are to come July 15-17 with a downtown parade, family amusements, history talks and a fireork display.
