CHARLESTON – Wilson W. Lawry, 93, passed away June 20, 2011. He was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Charleston, the son of Stillman and Lillian (Weymouth) Lawry, of Thorndike.
Wilson attended Charleston schools and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II, from Sept. 27, 1942 to Nov. 25, 1945. Wilson was a resident of Charleston and a farmer his entire life. He was the town sexton in Charleston for 13 years. Wilson was a kind and gentle man who was devoted to the raising and caring of his farming livestock.
Wilson is survived by a cousin, Clara Brasslett of Bradford. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ruby and Evelyn; a brother, Leroy; and his niece, Beulah Stevens.
There will be a graveside service 4 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Village Cemetery, Main Road, Charleston, with the Rev. David Lassell officiating. Arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Homes, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Please visit
