BANGOR – Cheryl “Sherry” Rae (Hallett) Pelletier, 62, died June 20, 2011, at her residence. She was the youngest child of Charles D. and Nellie W. (Holmes) Hallett. She was born Jan. 4, 1949, in Mars Hill.

Sherry spent the first 21 years of her life in Robinson and she also lived in Salem, N.H., Toronto and Houlton before moving to Fort Kent in 1988. In 2009 she moved to Bangor. Sherry was a graduate of Central Aroostook High School and was salutatorian of the Class of 1967. She was a member of the National Honor Society. She worked many years as a legal secretary, a real estate broker and a loan officer. Sherry attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle outreach campus in Houlton, and also attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She was past worthy advisor, past mother advisor, grand cross of color and past grand hope of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was past worthy matron of Friendship Chapter No. 32, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of Lunar Chapter No. 126, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Acadian Quilters of Madawaska and Pine Tree Quilters Guild of Maine. She was a former member of Free Baptist Church, Blaine; and Military Street Baptist Church, Houlton; and an active member of Fort Kent Bible Church, Fort Kent. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sherry loved watching birds, her cats, Velvet and Ebony, her perennial gardens, quilting and doing crossword puzzles, and trips to Florida, New York, Hawaii and Arizona with Chuck. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the Detroit Redwings and the New York Giants. She enjoyed her daily telephone calls with Troy and his family, and loved spending time with Chuck.

She dearly loved her husband and best friend, Charles C. Pelletier of Bangor. She also praised God for her greatest gift – her son, Troy Adam Boisvert; she is survived by him and his wife, Mindy J. Boisvert, of Canaan, N.H.; and her grandchildren, Kyle Richard Boisvert, Jacob Charles Boisvert and Sera Rae Boisvert of Canaan, N.H. Her best buddy growing up was her brother, Donald B. Hallett; she is survived by him and his wife, Sona, of Island Falls. She leaves behind two sisters, who spent their teenage years babysitting Sherry and Don, and who also became her dear friends, Barbara J. Bridges of Presque Isle and Lois J. Crawford and her husband, Robert, of Mars Hill. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Alethea and her husband, Lowell Guerrette, of Fort Kent and Marie and her husband, Keith Hartt, of St. Francis. Also surviving her is her special aunt, Midge Bean of Newport Beach, Calif.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was blessed to have two very dear lifelong friends, Janice (Foster) Miller of Mars Hill and Betty (Foster) Cronkite of Blaine, who were like sisters to her from age 5 until her demise. She was predeceased by her parents; a special uncle, Earl Hallett of Farmington, Conn.; and by her father and mother-in-law, Claude and Marion Pelletier. The family thanks Dr. Jan Drappatz and his staff, at Dana Farber, whose care made Sherry’s last year’s more bearable.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at First Free Baptist Church, Blaine, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sanborn Cemetery, Blaine.
