NORTH FALMOUTH, Mass., and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Olla M. Short, 88, passed away June 18, 2011, in Zephyrhills, Fla. Olla was born Nov. 17, 1922, in Millinocket, the daughter of Trueman I. and Hazel (Mooers) MacFarlane.

She graduated from Stearns High School and moved to Washington, D.C., to work. Olla was married to Stanley H. Short, a well-respected dentist, who predeceased her in 1987. They made their home in North Falmouth, Mass. In 1986 they relocated to Zephyrhills, Fla., but continued to summer in North Falmouth, Mass. In 1989 she married Charles R. Dore of Millinocket and Zephyrhills, Fla. Olla was a past deaconess of First Congregation Church, North Falmouth, Mass., and a member of the Thursday Club and North Falmouth Village Association. She was active in community affairs and enjoyed bowling, camping with her family and traveling.

Olla is survived by her husband, Charles R. Dore of Zephyrhills, Fla.; daughter, Nancy S. Hall and her husband, Wayne, of Colchester, Vt.; son, Robert H. Short and his wife, Teri, of Washburn, Wis.; and grandchildren, David, Kristin and Anna.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of family in Millinocket. Any donations should be made in Olla’s name to the charity of your choice.
