BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police arrested a local man Tuesday morning after they found prescription pills in his possession and weapons concealed in his clothing.
Jonathan Deveau, 35, was charged with possession of scheduled drugs and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit after a city police officer was called to Linden Street about 7:15 a.m. to look into a report of an intoxicated male and found Deveau passed out near a car on Linden Street, Bangor police Lt. Jeff Millard said Tuesday afternoon.
When the officer approached, he spotted what looked like a holster at Deveau’s waist. After the officer cuffed Deveau, he found a baton hidden under his jacket, Millard said. When Deveau began to struggle, the officer heard a clinking noise and then saw a small handgun fall out of his pant leg, Millard said, citing a police report.
The report also indicated that Deveau had in his possession four pills believed to Ativan, an anti-anxiety medication.
