HAMPDEN – Lynn Hughes passed quietly June 27, 2011, at home, with his daughters, friends and family at his side, after a long battle with cancer.

He actively celebrated and engaged in life, testing limits on what’s possible. He was an Ironman triathlete, marathoner, avid skier and an active outdoorsman. He would sit hours on end in the woods waiting for the perfect deer.

Lynn was also a Sugarloafer since 1984.

Lynn was most proud of his family – his two daughters, Adie and Libby. He passed peacefully knowing his legacy to them is to “Live Strong.”

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. In lieu of flowers, contributions on Lynn’s behalf may be made to Maine Huts & Trails, 375 North Main St., Kingfield, ME 04947. Messages of condolence and memories may be shared through
