HEMET, Calif. – Barbara “Jean” Ryder, 83, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at her residence. Jean was born Jan. 24, 1928, the daughter of Earl Henry and Matilda (Jamieson) Stockwell.
Jean was a network manager with New England Telephone Co. for 37 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and very involved with the charismatic prayer group, served as a greeter, Eucharistic minister of the sick, and a member of Word Gifts ministries for conferences with San Bernardino, Calif., dioceses. She would also volunteer with feeding the homeless in the Hemet, Calif., area.
She is survived by her sister, Janice Kistler of Hemet, Calif.; and brother, Earl Stockwell of Hemet, Calif. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, John Ryder.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor.
