LINCOLN – Barbara Lou (Philbrook) Jones, 74, wife of the late Carroll Jones, died July 5, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born May 3, 1937, in Mattawamkeag, and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Florence (Speed) and Gerald Crocker.
Barbara married Carroll Merrill Jones, Jan. 22, 1967. She enjoyed camping with her family and doing puzzles. She was an avid Red Sox fan and always gave Carroll a hard time about being a Yankees fan.
In addition to her stepfather, Gerald Crocker of Enfield; she is survived by a son, Scott and his wife, Belinda (White) Jones, of Holden; two stepchildren, Michael Jones of Hudson and Diane Jones of Sanford; three grandchildren, Trevin Jones of Holden, Steven Jones of Texas and Adam Jones of New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll, March 27, 2003; her mother, Florence (Speed) Crocker; a sister, Nancy (Philbrook) Harris.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Westgate Manor Activities Fund. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
