DEXTER – Rose Louise Morancie passed away July 5, 2011, with family at her bedside at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Dexter,

just six days short of her 101st birthday. Rose was born July 11, 1910, in Dexter, a daughter of Jerre and Clara (Como) Ganeau.

Rose was a lifelong resident of Dexter. She graduated salutatorian of her class in 1928. In 1931 she married Bernard J. Morancie, also of Dexter. Rose lived a full and wonderful life. Her pride and joy was being surrounded by her family and friends and being a lifelong communicant of St. Anne’s Parish. Rose was the proud recipient of the Boston Cane Award in December 2010.

Rose is survived by three sons, Bernard “Terry” Morancie and his wife, Sallie, of Brewer, Ross Morancie and his wife, Mary, of Dexter and Wilfrid “Will” and his wife, Carol, of Ocean Springs, Miss.; her grandchildren, Teresa Morancie of Bangor, Joseph Morancie and his wife, Debbie, of Port Saint John, Fla., Susan Foley of Ocala, Fla., Linda Edney of Pelham, N.H., Amy Burke and husband, Bill, of Sandown, N.H., Karen McCutcheon and husband, Rick, of Littleton, Mass., and Todd Morancie of Massachusetts; great-grandchildren, Devon Morancie, Ashley Edney, Alex Edney, Ryan Elizabeth Foley, Teddy Pinkham and partner, Kate, Casey Pinkham, Jessica Morancie, Toni Morancie and Cassidy Morancie; and one great-great-grandson, Dakota Pinkham; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, as well as several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; three sisters, Mary Ellen Smith, Rita Lamb and Madeline Forbes; and one brother, Wilfrid Ganeau.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. July 20, at St. Anne’s Church, Dexter. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Rose’s memory to St. Anne’s Church, Dexter Sunshine Club or Pine Tree Hospice of Dover. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
