DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — The former treasurer of the HUGS parent group, who pleaded guilty in March to the theft of more than $1,000 from the organization, was sentenced Thursday.
Tessa Herrick, 31, of Guilford was sentenced in Piscataquis County Superior Court to four days in jail and was fined $750.
Because Herrick entered the earlier guilty plea to Class D theft by unauthorized taking, a Class C felony theft charge was dismissed.
HUGS is a parent group that raises money for activities for children in the Guilford area.
