JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Clair A. Townsend, 84, passed away June 29, 2011. He was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Houlton.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family members all across the U.S.
Clair is survived by sons, Mikale and Connie of Omaha, Neb., Jerry and Marian of Dexter and Wade and Vicki of Milford; daughters, Cleo Clark of Jacksonville, Fla., and Gail Lane of Brewer; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Elmer Townsend; brothers, Fayette and Lyle; and a daughter, Shirley Charlton of Kansas City, Kan.
A graveside memorial service will be held Sept. 5 in Dyer Brook.
