ORONO — Former University of Maine basketball star and coach Peter Gavett recorded his second hole-in-one of the season when he aced the 144-yard fourth hole at Penobscot Valley Country Club on July 4.
Gavett used a hybrid club to notch the ace, which was witnessed by Jen Gavett of Orono and Paul Thomas of Orono. He also recorded a hole-in-one at PVCC in late May, and his first hole-in-one in June 2010, also at PVCC.
