SILVER RIDGE – Robert Charles “Bob” Mayo, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. He was born May 20, 1928, at his home in Silver Ridge, where he resided most of his life.
Robert worked in the woods as a young man, then owned his own trucking company, RC Mayo and Son Trucking, for many years, until his retirement at age 65.
He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Clara; and his daughter, Deloris, who died of a brain tumor at age 6. Robert is survived by his son, Wayne Mayo and his wife, Cindy, of Sangerville; two grandsons, Shawn of Bangor and Kary of Orrington; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Silver Ridge Cemetery, Route 2, Silver Ridge. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, East Millinocket. Messages of condolence may be expressed at
